Jamaica is a mountainous island in the Caribbean Sea about 600 miles (965 kilometers) south of Miami, Florida.

The official language is English.

Jamaica's national animal is the red-billed streamertail also known as the doctor bird, scissor-tail or scissors tail hummingbird. 👇

And its national flower is  the the Lignum Vitae. It was found here by Christopher Columbus. Its' name, when translated from Latin, means “wood of life” – probably adopted because of its medicinal qualities.👇
